Meghan Markle and Princess Kate have had a rocky relationship for the last few years. At first, the two seemingly got along well when Prince Harry first introduced to the former Suits actress to his brother and sister-in-law.

However, things went downhill after an alleged argument at Meghan Markle’s wedding, which supposedly left Princess Kate in tears. Indeed, it was said that Meghan and Kate got into an argument concerning Princess Charlotte’s flower girl dress, which was reportedly too big. Meghan was allegedly rude to Kate, who left crying.

Since Prince Harry and Meghan stepped down as working Royals in 2020, the two have had an estranged relationship with Princess Kate and Prince William, and have only seen the two a handful of times. It is believed they haven’t spent time alone since.

Despite their tense relationship, it has been reported that Meghan Markle has recently been inspired by Princess Kate’s style of parenting.

Meghan Markle is inspired by Princess Kate’s parenting

Meghan Markle recently announced she was launching her own lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, which will sell homeware and kitchen accessories as well as nut butters, jams and conserves.

Along the same lines, it has been reported by Mirror that Meghan is going to star in her very own cookery show on Netflix, which is a part of her and Prince Harry’s £80 million ($100 million) five-year deal with the streaming service.

According to sources, Meghan is ‘inspired’ by her sister-in-law’s approach to parenting, especially her way of including her three children in her work projects and public appearances. A source told OK! that Meghan would like to include her two children, Archie, who will turn 5 this week, and Lilibet, 2, in her new Netflix show.

She would love for Archie and Lilibet to make guest appearances on her new show as being a mum is a huge part of her life and wants to show off that part of her world, just like Kate does occasionally when she takes her children to work events.

However, Prince Harry may not be on board with the idea.

Prince Harry doesn’t agree with Meghan

As mentioned above, Prince Harry reportedly isn’t keen about having his children in the public eye as he is still ‘traumatised’ by the intrusion in his life as a child and as an adult. The source explained that Prince Harry wants to keep his two young children out of the eyes of the media.

The source told OK! that Meghan and Prince Harry often have discussions concerning their children and whether to have them in the media:

Harry and Meghan have always had friendly debate over the children and the idea of them being in the spotlight.

The source added that the intrusion from the media is one of the reasons the Duke of Sussex stepped down as a working Royal and moved out of the UK—as he didn’t want his children growing up the same way he did:

For Harry, the experience he had growing up in the public eye means he wants to keep his children out of it for as long as possible – that was one of his reasons for quitting royal life as he wanted to protect the kids.

Prince Harry has been adamant from the beginning to not put his children through what he experienced growing up. After the couple left The Firm in 2020, they did a bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey, where Prince Harry explained he wanted to ‘break the cycle’.

Certainly, when it comes to parenting, if I’ve experienced some form of pain or suffering [...] I’m going to make sure I break that cycle so that I don’t pass it on, basically.

Despite Prince Harry’s reluctance, Meghan is allegedly hoping her husband will come around and change his mind. The source explained that Meghan sees the situation differently as they would be the ones in control, therefor she ‘doesn’t really see the problem’.

Meghan had a completely different childhood and grew up in LA, and doesn’t really see the problem as long as they are the ones who control it.

Adding:

Meghan is super proud of her kids and thinks as long as they’re not over-exposed, then it’ll all be OK.
Meghan is hoping Harry will get on board with her plans soon.

Meghan Markle including the children could boost popularity

If you are a Royal fan, you know that the public loves it when Prince William and Princess Kate include their children in their work engagements. Indeed, little Prince Louis is a fan-favourite as he is still too young to understand Royal protocol and acts like a typical 5-year-old. Many will remember Prince Louis’ antics at the Jubilee concert for the late Queen Elizabeth.

So far, the public has seen very little of Prince Harry and Meghan’s two children. When the two were working Royals, they only had Archie, who was seen fairly regularly. However, when the couple moved to Montecito in the US, Archie was shielded from the press. The same applies to little Lilibet.

Prince Harry and Meghan have only released one official portrait of their daughter, and it was to mark Lilibet’s first birthday. The photo was published at the same time as the Jubilee celebrations for the late Queen Elizabeth.

Some videos and photos of Prince Harry and Meghan’s children were included in their Netflix documentary, but neither children have been seen in public with their parents.

Since the Wales children are so popular, it is likely that the Sussex children could be just as well liked, especially as they have been seen so rarely since they were born.

If Prince Harry and Meghan Markle manage to find a middleground concerning the upcoming Netflix show, it could mean we will be seeing a lot more of both Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet in the future.
