Changes to McDonald's Big Mac burger

As per the Yahoo report, McDonald's has announced its plan to test out some 'tasty improvements' to its signature burgers. These list of items where changes would be made include the iconic Big Mac burger, classic cheeseburger, double cheeseburger and hamburger.

The changes would include 'softer, pillowy buns' that would be toasted, more melted cheese, and white onions that would be cooked onto patties on the grill for more caramelised taste. The burgers will also have extra Big Mac sauce.

Chef Chad Schafer, senior director of culinary innovation at McDonald's has said in a statement,

I’ll always remember my first burger from McDonald’s. And now my culinary team and I have the best job in the world: thinking about ways to bring even more of that iconic McDonald’s taste to fans.

Speaking about the improvements to McDonald's recipes he says,

We found that small changes, like tweaking our process to get hotter, meltier cheese and adjusting our grill settings for a better sear, added up to a big difference in making our burgers more flavorful than ever

Return of the Hamburglar

McDonald's has also announced the return of the Hamburglar, which is one of the most iconic mascots. This was unveiled to the public for the first time via the brand's latest ad which features the voice of HBO Succession star Brian Cox appearing along with the Hamburglar.

The Hamburglar first appeared in McDonald's commercials back in in March 1971. He was cast as a villain who tries to steal hamburgers.

As per the report, the latest change is the first time that McDonald's is instituting such a huge recipe change in almost 5 years. The last time the brand changed up things on such a big scale was in 2018. The company at that time switched from frozen beef to fresh beef for their Quarter Pounder burgers.
