McDonald's customer makes bizarre order leaving staff confused and fast-food fans amused

McDonald’s menu constantly keeps evolving to include new tastes and menu items according to the season and customer preferences. The company’s restaurants are also known for adhering to customer requests when it comes to menu upgrades or alterations. These are typically about things such as adding additional bacon or tomatoes, or leaving out onions etc.

One McDonald’s fan decided to test just how far McDonald’s would go to cater to customer requests. Customer @RobDenBleyker published a Twitter thread where he shared what happens when you order a ‘nothing burger’ from McDonald's via a food-delivery app. The result of the experiment has left fans on the Internet amused.

The 'Nothing' burger order by the McDonald's customer

McDonald’s nothing burger

@RobDenBleyker McDonald’s order was for a cheeseburger. With the customisation option on the app, he amended his order so that it had no mustard, no ketchup, no diced onions, no pickle, no American cheese, no meat, no regular bun, and no salt.

The Twitter post read,

OK let's try this again, ordering a nothing burger from McDonalds. this time nothing else in the order.
will they cancel it? deliver an empty bag? i am doing this so you don't have to

The customer paid a grand total of $1.89 (£1.56) for the order.

This is what he received

The order was made through the DoorDash app, and once the delivery driver reached McDonald’s to collect the order, the Dasher texted the customer saying,

Restaurant is confused as to what you want on your order.

The customer did not respond to this confusion and just waited for his food to arrive. Finally the order arrived and inside the McDonald’s delivery bag was an empty wrapper!

The 'food' delivery received by the DoorDash user

Yes, it seems the fast-food restaurant did honour the request of the customer and served exactly what was asked from it.

As one fan commented on the Twitter thread,

If you were willing to pay for nothing, McD's was more than willing to make your dream a reality.
