On the other hand, Prince Harry is currently 5th in line to the throne, meaning it is very unlikely that he will become King. Even before Prince Harry stepped down as a working Royal with his wife, Meghan Markle, who just launched a new lifestyle brand, he and William were in different situations.

Due to the clear difference in their financial situations, one Royal decided each would receive a different inheritance to make up for it.

Prince William and Prince Harry had a different inheritance

As reported by Express, Prince William and Prince Harry received different inheritances from their great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth - the Queen Mother. The Queen Mother died in 2002 and left behind an estate worth around £70 million.

The Sun reports that in 1994, the Queen Mother set up a trust fund for her great-grandchildren and put two-thirds of her own money in it. Prince William and Prince Harry were set to share around £14 million.

However, the Duke of Sussex received most of the money as his brother will ‘benefit financially” by becoming king. It isn’t clear how much Prince Harry eventually inherited, but the difference was made as Prince William will inherit many assets the day he becomes King of England.

Prince Harry’s current net worth

Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle decided to step down as working Royals and left the Firm for financial independence. Since then, together, they have released several projects. The couple released their documentary on Netflix, Prince Harry published his memoir. Meghan also had a podcast, which was eventually cancelled.

As per Express, Prince Harry’s net worth is around £48 million, with Meghan’s around a similar sum. Indeed, Prince Harry’s memoir Spare sold millions of copies and he and Meghan own their home in Montecito, worth £12.8 million.

Moreover, a large amount of Prince Harry’s fortune comes from the inheritance he received after his mother, Diana died in 1997. Diana had left both of her sons a hefty sum of £13 million, which decreased to £8.5 million after death duties.

However, both Princes were not able to access the sum until they were 30. By the time Prince Harry and Prince William were of age to inherit the money, it had increased to £20 million thanks to smart investments. Despite the massive sum, the Princes did not inherit the full £20 million.
