Meghan Markle and Prince Harry in Jamaica

Waking up on 24 January, the fact that the Sussexes made their way to Jamaica for a movie premiere was everywhere.

While there are rumours that the couple is being cast aside in Hollywood, last night seemed to prove otherwise as they rubbed elbows and shook hands with the president and CEO of Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon as well as the cast of the movie.

They were also seen with the Prime Minister of Jamaica, Andrew Holness. In January 2023, Forbes reported on the Prime Minister’s will to ‘move ahead with speed’ towards a republic and severing ties with the British monarchy. Daily Mail called out the visit’s timing and wrote that the couple is ‘insensitive’ for going to such an event while the King is set to have surgery and the Princess of Wales is recovering from hers.
