Online poll measuring the state of the union in the US

Tolmachev speaking to the Russian news site Podmoskovye Segodnya, said:

‘If Americans vote to secede some states from the country and express a desire to join Russia, Moscow will consider it’

Tolmachev responded to a poll in the US which asked respondents whether they would like their state to cede from the federal union. According to the online poll,80% of New Hampshire residents expressed their desire to break away from the US, Newsweek reports.

A decaying west with a failed foreign policy

According to Unilad, Tolmachev described the poll results as a sign of internal strife among citizens in the United States as he called it a result of a ‘decaying country’ with a ‘failed foreign policy’.

He linked to the internal crisis in the US and the European Union also as a result of their military support towards Ukraine.

'Such initiatives are a signal that the citizens of the United States are dissatisfied with their leadership and are ready to take extreme measures, up to secession, if the current policy of America continues.'

Tolmachev, however, insists that the way to go about this is not on social media, but rather seek formal and legitimate ways of secession, taking as an example the Ukrainian provinces of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson.

Russian President Vladimir Putin recently signed an incorporation decree for the four regions in Ukraine, thus annexingone-fifth of Ukraine’s territory, in what has been described as the most extensive land grab in Europe since 1945.

The west has condemned Vladimir Putin’s actions, dismissing sham referendums and vowing never to accept the recent annexation of Ukrainian regions, here including the Crimean peninsula which was annexed by Russia back in 2014.
