Reportedly, Ekin-Su had to let go of a lot of friends after her stint on the show. Here’s why that happened.

Why did Ekin-Su give up on her friends?

‘Friendships are forever.’ For our Turkish delight that may not be as true as she would like it to be. Despite her popularity on the show, Ekin-Su is left with a very ‘small inner circle’ after people showed her their true colours. Speaking to Cosmopolitan UK, the 28-year-old actress revealed:

I’ve lost every friend I had. I don’t have any friends. I have one friend and that’s it. Unfortunately, with the fame, you see people’s true colours.

She explained that she lost people that she had known for 10 years after the show because they snitched about her life. She said:

People just want to be your friend because of your status, and it’s a hard industry to trust. No, I don’t actually have friends left.
People I’d known for 10 years who were in my life… selling stories is not very nice. I wouldn’t do that to someone.

Ekin-Su added:

Unfortunately, I had that coming out of the villa, I had to delete people out of my life. But I am happier this way.
Sometimes keeping your circle small is the best, and you don’t always need friends. So long as you know who you are, that’s fine.

She also pointed out that if things were the other way around, she would’ve supported her ‘friends’ instead of acting the way they did.

The former Love Island star, who took part in Dancing On Ice revealed she was going through a lot of ‘work stress’ at that time but had to pretend everything was just fine. Giving insight into her ‘mentally draining’ work commitments, she said:

There have been things in my life that I can’t mention now that have affected my mental health for a while.
I had to keep smiling and pretend everything was fine. This was during Dancing On Ice when there were things in the background – not relationship related, by the way – [they were] work-related that was very hard. I couldn’t say anything.
It was mentally draining. That was one of the tough times.

Ekin-Su praised her boyfriend Davide for being a big support during that time and helping her get out of it.
