The couple shared some snippets of their family life in their Netflix docu-series: Harry and Meghan. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex shared an official photo of Lilibet for her first birthday, but since then, both children have been kept away from the media.

However, Prince Harry has shared a small insight into his life in the US and shared a sweet anecdote about his son and what his current plans are for the future. In a recent interview, Prince Harry sheds light on his days as a father.

Prince Harry opens up about being a father

Prince Harry has released a new documentary on Netflix for his Invictus Games. In one episode of the five-part documentary, the Duke of Sussex talks about being a father to two small children.

Prince Harry revealed that he had never wanted to be a father serving in the military. Talking with his friends and former Invictus competitors JJ Chalmers and David Wiseman, he said:

I've always had myself down as being the dad that I could never be serving while having kids. And you both did, right? It's never the individual signing up – it's the whole family signing up.

Then, in an interview, the Duke is asked what he does, to which his first answer is ‘I'm a dad of two under-three-year-olds.’

He then adds:

I've got a couple of dogs. (I'm) a husband. I'm founding patron of Invictus Games Foundation. There's lots of hats that one wears, but I believe today is all about Invictus.

Prince Archie ‘knows’ what he wants to be when he grows up

During the documentary, you can also see a new photo of Prince Archie on his father’s desk. In the photo, Archie is wearing grey jeans, a dark blue jumper with a big letter A on it and holding a toy.

Prince Harry then reveals that he and his son often talk about the future and little Archie has shared what he wants to be when he grows up. However, like with any 4-year-old, he can’t quite make up his mind. During a speech at the 2022 Invictus Games, he said:

When I talk to my son Archie about what he wants to be when he grows up, some days it's an astronaut, some days it's a pilot

Prince Harry adds that he often tells his son that what matters most is his character:

But what I remind him is no matter what you want to be when you grow up it's your character that matters most.
Nothing would make his mum and me prouder than to see him have the character of what we see before us today – you.
