A really expensive house for a really rich man

Ranked at the tenth spot on Bloomberg's global Billionaires Index, Ambani has made his fortune by being the chairman, managing director and largest shareholder of Reliance Industries, a Fortune Global 500 company. Reliance industries operates by owning businesses engaged in energy, petrochemicals, textiles, natural resources, retail and telecommunications.

The billionaire's house is a 173 meter-tall Antilia designed by American firm Perkins & Will and constructed by Australia's Leighton Holdings that is comes equipped with three helipads, an air traffic control facility, a ballroom and, of course, a 168-car garage (because one or two luxury cars is obviously not enough). Construction of the house ended in 2010 and the Ambani and his family having moved in officially two years later.

The residence was also built to be able to withstand earthquakes that go up to 8.0 magnitude on the Richter scale.

An article written about the house described the residence as:

Sea-facing Antilia stands tall, catching the eye of everyone in the area. The asymmetrical structure of the building is replete with sprawling terrace gardens. Even though Antilia is built in a way to fit nearly 60 floors, the building has only 27 floors, with extra high ceilings.

The second most valuable residential property in the world

Another fun fact about this house is that the only residential property that is more valuable than this one is Buckingham Palace!
