The British Royal family is one of the oldest monarchies still standing today, the pages of history document 1200 years of their complex ups and downs.

While the modern royals are far from the traditional way their ancestors ruled, they still carry some traditions from that time which are still upheld today. Some are completely reasonable, others may be luxuries, but a few are slightly particular.

Times may have changed but this list of peculiar rules and traditions is something every British royal must adhere to and while there have been a few modifications, they were marginal so it is quite safe to say that the Royal Family will keep following this protocol for generations to come.
