The Royal Family shows sign of unity as major royal rift seems to be coming to an end

In the past few years, some members of the Royal Family have been forced to take their distance. In 2020, Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle chose to step down and move away from England as they felt unprotected by the Firm against constant media attention and harassment.

A couple of months after the Sussexes’ departure, Prince Andrew, King Charles’ younger brother, announced that he would be stepping down from any public engagement. This was announced after Prince Andrew gave an interview in 2019 during which he discussed his ties to the Epstein scandal. This interview was described as a ‘car crash’ and tarnished Prince Andrew’s image.

Now that members of the Royal Family are reuniting in Balmoral for the first time since Queen Elizabeth II’s death, one royal seems to be back in the fold.

Prince William seen driving his uncle to church

Over the weekend (26 and 27 August), pictures of Prince William, Princess Kate and Prince Andrew together came out. The three of them were seen driving together to attend a church service.

The Balmoral reunion, wanted by King Charles III, is supposed to stop the incessant rumours about the Royal Family being divided. Indeed, an unnamed royal source confirmed in The Telegraph that this Balmoral vacation invited every member of the Royal Family.

They said:

Safe to say it’s a holiday where the entire family has been invited, the entire family are participating and the entire family are included. Anyone looking for a family divided angle will be sorely disappointed.’

According to Mirror the fact that Prince Andrew was with the heir to the throne could ‘mark an end to such talks.’ However, earlier in August 2023, it was reported that one member of the royal family wasn’t invited: Prince Harry.

Royal watchers react to the show of unity

As stated above, it appears that the Royal Family is working hard to appear united. However, it seems that one member is still excluded from any form of reunion: Prince Harry. When the pictures of the Cambridges and Prince Andrew together came out, they triggered a huge debate on X where royal watchers are trying to come to terms with what the images represent.

Looking at the comments, these images are not the most welcomed, especially since they come while Prince William is still suffering the aftermath of not attending the Women’s World Cup Final.

Other royal watchers do point out that Prince Andrew hasn’t been found guilty of any crime.
