It is likely the previous owners of the house (or before them for that matter) knew there was something in the house.
Removing this would be a mistake. If you do remove it, you should replace it in some way. But do whatever you want - previous owners may have done this as a “joke” without knowing the meaning behind the sigil, and so it may not have been placed there intentionally as there is something in the house.
What does the pentagram mean?
The Pentagram has existed before Christ and has evolved throughout the years, its meaning changes from one culture to another. In modern times, however, it has been associated with the occult. The inverted pentagram is associated with ‘black magic’ and devil worship as it is present in one of the main symbols of the Church of Satan: The sigil of Baphomet. The symbol has made its way through pop culture as a symbol for spirit communions and vigils as seen on the popular series Supernatural. It could also be interpreted as a protective sigil to ward off evil.
