Looks like the Sussex residence is in trouble once again, only months after the chilling discovery of an ancient cemetery was made nearby. According to the Mirror, dangerous intruders have been roaming around the famous neighbourhood that Harry and Meghan now call home—bears. And they may be coming after little Archie’s beloved chickens.

Dangerous intruders

During the couple’s interview with Oprah Winfrey, they revealed one of their most treasured possessions in their home. A chicken coop named ‘Archie’s Chick Inn.’ But it looks like their furry pets are in danger of being eaten as bears have been caught prowling near their luxury property for some time now, and they’ve already caused damage to a few of their neighbours.

One resident of Parma Park, which is a short drive from the royal’s home, took a photo of a brown bear that was right next to his chicken coop. Another claims to have seen a bear chomping down on their own flightless birds.

Last month, bears were spotted near two Montecito schools and it caused panic and chaos in the area. The children were immediately taken to safety as a ‘precautionary measure’ and there were no unfortunate encounters. However, it seems as though the bears are beginning to venture into human territory in search of food—putting not only the residents at risk, but themselves as well.

Is Archie’s henhouse safe?

Harry and Meghan’s neighbour, 74-year-old Penelope Bianchi, seems to think that Archie’s chickens are no longer safe in Montecito either. She speaks from experience as bears killed eight of her chickens. She said:

It's a good thing we were at home otherwise we're sure the bear would have broken into the garage to finish off all the chickens.
It's the first time this has happened in 40 years.

She even sent a personal warning to Meghan and Harry, telling them to amp up the security around their chicken coop. She added:

Please, please Meghan and Harry, get these devices so your chickens are safe and the bear is safe.
