Love Island bosses have eliminated this controversial challenge from this season

Each season of Love Island sees some new challenges for the contestants and some classic returns from the previous seasons. However, this particular controversial challenge will not be returning this season.

The fun part of Love Island is seeing the handsome hunks and sizzling beauties find love in the villa. But what’s even more interesting are the challenges the Islanders perform. Online buzz twitter challenge is one such challenge that has been part of the show in the previous seasons.

No buzzing this time

However, the bosses have confirmed that the fan favourite controversial Online buzz Twitter challenge won’t be returning this season. The challenge had Islanders guessing who or what the online comments were about. The Sun confirms that this challenge has led to explosive scenes in the past as islanders learn about some hidden truths through the tweets.

Earlier viewers had spotted a clue that the challenge would make a return this season after ITV2 officially posted that some of the tweets will be used. However, a show source has confirmed otherwise:

As we’ve already seen, not every game is repeated year on year. Just because a challenge was part of the format for a couple of series doesn’t mean it’s here to stay.
Producers always try and keep things fresh or respond to feedback, for example with removing food challenges.

The game was last seen playing in 2019 and a different version of it returned in 2020. So, fans can expect something more interesting this season.

Not all is lost

While the Online Buzz challenge will certainly not make a return this season, another famous challenge will be returning for sure. Laura Whitmore confirmed on the recent episode of Love Island: Aftersun that the baby challenge will take place this week.

The couples will be seen taking care of a realistic doll that cries and needs feeding and changing as the Islanders pretend to be parents.
