Covid-19 is still among us and keeps evolving. The latest variants, BA.4 and BA.5, seem to be spreading quickly. In the last week, a total of 2.3 million people have contracted the virus, as reported by The Independent.

A rise in infection
The Office for National Statistics (ONS) has reported that the number of Covid-19 infections has risen by 32% compared to last week. Moreover, hospital numbers are rising with ‘early signs of a rise in intensive care admissions among older age groups,’ according to The Independent.
The number of infections - 2.3 million - is the highest number of Covid-19 infections since late April but it is still below the peak from the Omicron BA.2 wave back in March.
According to ONS data, the percentage of the population testing positive for Covid-19 in England is currently at 3.35% compared to 0.1% in 2020 and 1.57% in 2021.
If one in 30 people in your country have covid, there's no way you can describe that situation as post-pandemic.

Most reported symptoms
As the variants of Covid-19 keep changing, the main symptoms can too. According to the ZOE Covid Study app, the most reported symptom of Covid-19 is headaches. The ZOE Covid Study app is to help keep track of symptoms of those infected with Covid-19.
As per The Independent, more than 2 in 3 Covid patients reported having headaches before receiving their positive test results. Some reported suffering from headaches before experiencing breathing difficulties.
