John Cleese spends £ 17,000 a year to stay young

Over the years we have seen many celebs undergoing cosmetic procedures for instance Katie Price - who constantly tries to alter her appearance and BGT judge Simon Cowell. Another name on the list is the Monty Python’s actor John Cleese.

Cleese revealed that he travels to Switzerland to undergo stem cell therapy treatment. According to The Standard, the actor has spent £17,000 every year for the past 20 years on a stem cell therapy to combat ageing. John - who apologised for his Hitler-Trump tweet - has to go to Switzerland every 12 to 18 months to get the best and 'highest quality of stem cells' for himself. He explained:

You must get the highest quality stem cells – the ones I have are from a place in Montreux, Switzerland, called La Prairie.
If you’re buying yourself a few extra years, I think it’s worth it.

Sharing how the stem cells work, John explained that they travel through the body and find areas that need repairing and replace them into new cells for that part. So, these stem cells could end up becoming cartilage cells or liver cells. He added:

So I think that’s why I don’t look bad for 84.

He further touched on his health and revealed that he’s fit and there’s nothing currently wrong with his body that could cause his death anytime soon.

John Cleese and 32 years younger wife Jennifer Wade

Apart from his work and his looks, another controversial topic of his life has been his love life. The star has been married 4 times so far with his last wedding being in 2012 on the Caribbean island Mustique with 32 years younger Jennifer Wade, 52.

Many people commented on their relationship when it initially started. However, their relationship has gone from strength to strength since. The two met through mutual friends in 2009 and got married in August 2012, confirms The Sun.

Talking about his wife, he previously said:

I knew from the first moment I met her that this could be something very serious.
She is an extraordinary one-off. I never felt there was anything wrong with the institution of marriage – the only thing wrong was my ability to choose the right person.

Defending their relationship, he said:

A lot of people comment and then the moment they actually see us together for two minutes they say, ‘Oh, I get it’, and it never arises again.’
