But don't worry! We've put together a selection of home remedies and tips that'll make those annoying blisters a distant memory.
One thing you can do is use ice. It'll help reduce redness and slightly soften the scab.
Dairy is another great tool to have. For example, yoghurt and milk contain lysine which helps get rid of the virus.
Tea, garlic, and lemon are also very helpful. Just put a few drops of lemon, a garlic clove, or a teabag itself on the sore to reduce inflammation.
But, most importantly, you should be extra careful about hygiene. Make sure not to share your belongings and keep your hands clean.
