The great news that the Queen's granddaughter is expecting a child hit the newsstands this morning after the royal family posted the announcement over Twitter.

Eugenie is Prince Andrew's and Sarah Ferguson's youngest daughter and is 10th in line to the throne, making her soon-to-be first child the 11th, knocking Prince Edward down to 12th. The royal family posted the great news to their Twitter page this morning stating:
Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie and Mr Jack Brooksbank are very pleased to announce that they are expecting a baby in early 2021. The Duke of York and Sarah, Duchess of York, Mr and Mrs George Brooksbank, The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh are delighted with the news.

Princess Eugenie and her husband live on the grounds of the Kensington Palace just a few doors away from the Cambridges. So, the new royal baby will be in no short supply of cousins to play with.

The soon-to-be parents tied the knot back in Windsor back in 2018 with an exuberant celebrity guest list including, Kate Moss, Ellie Goulding and Robbie Williams. The adorable couple dated for a very respectable seven years after meeting on the slopes of Verbier, a luxury ski resort. According to Eugenie, the marriage proposal took her completely by surprise as Jack got down on one knee during a holiday in Nicaragua. Speaking at their engagement interview the princess stated:
Granny actually knew right at the beginning, she was one of the very few people at the beginning, we left her this weekend and had a lovely time and she was very happy, as was my grandfather.
Well, it looks like it's been a happy year all round for Eugenie and her sister as Princess Beatrice also got married this year to her long time partner Edo Mapelli Mozzi in a small secret wedding ceremony. The ceremony was planned at the last minute after Beatrice's original wedding was called off due to coronavirus measures. But, it all seemed to work out okay and the few images released of the wedding show it was no doubt a beautiful ceremony.
