'Hey, stranger!'. Every time you look at your inbox, a different ex decides it's time to crawl back. Even when they ghosted you after a week. Classy.

Every notification comes with the hope a message from the hot guy you saw on Tinder but reality hits hard when you find out it was the guy you regretted having a fling with three summers ago. But believe it or not, people everywhere have been getting messages from their exes in a dating trendknown as zombie-ing.

So have we finally exhausted dating apps or is it something else?

Due to lockdown the zombies that have once ghosted us are coming back from the grave and Gwendolyn Seidman, an associate psychology professor at Albright College believes there is a good reason behind it. Due to lockdown, people are becoming increasingly lonely and bored, causing them to shamefully reach out after leaving you in the dust with no information.

Seidman also notes that while we may not be able to go out on dates, that doesn't mean we don't crave interaction. As we can no longer go on dates with a new person every night we have been looking back through our phones to search for any romantic contact and ever deeper meaning.

Some are even using lockdown to reevaluate their life choices and have taken the time to clear air. Maybe, just maybe they are hitting you up for ghostingyou out of the blue. Seidman also claims that the Houdini of your love life could be coming back to admit they still have feelings for you.

Should you give them another chance?

Let's say your reanimated lover has pulled at your heartstrings- should you give your zombie another chance? Well, if they're here to apologize then it could be good to hear them out but chances are you're still not the only girl they're talking to so its best to ghost that guy right back.

However, this is suffering season and a little virtual intimacy could work wonders to make you feel better. So, if you're feeling secure, then it may not be the worst idea in the world to entertain the conversation.
