What does it mean to be autosexual?

People with auto sexuality are more attracted to themselves than to others, and they may prefer masturbation to sexual activity with a partner. It doesn’t mean that an autosexual person will never have sexual connections with other individuals. It simply means that autosexual people are more sexually stimulated by themselves than by others.

Autosexuality has received little attention. Autosexual tendencies exist in everyone, even if they don't identify as such. Autosexuality, like other sexual orientations, can be found on a spectrum. Some people have sexual desires for themselves, enjoy self-stimulation, have sexual fantasies about themselves, and fantasise about themselves at the expense of other relationships. Others may possess these characteristics yet are romantically and sexually involved with one or more partners.

How to know if you are auto sexual?

Autosexuality is a spectrum and it might be difficult to find hard and fast rules that apply to everyone. Still, there are a few indicators that you're autosexual or have autosexual tendencies. For instance, you are more attracted to yourself than others and get sexually aroused by gazing at your own physique. It may be the case that masturbation is more appealing to you than partnered sex.

One significant autosexual tendency would be that you prefer being sexual with yourself to being sexual with others. You may also have more sexual fantasies and have sexual dreams about yourself than you do about others. Regardless of being autosexual, you can still have sexual and romantic connections with others. If you're in a love connection with someone else, you'll just find it simpler to get turned on by yourself.

Autosexuals in a relationship

It is a common misconception that autosexuals never have connections with others, however, this is not the case. Some autosexuals may crave intimacy with others. They may identify with one or more other sexual orientations and, for the most part, enjoy self-stimulation. A person's sexual orientation determines the genders to whom they are sexually attracted, but their romantic orientation describes their pattern of romantic attraction. While the two can be aligned, it is not necessarily always the case.

The health of a relationship is determined by several factors other than one partner's auto sexuality. Ultimately, whether or not a relationship is healthy is determined by how much the partners respect each other's individual sexual and romantic inclinations.
