Hancock played one of the key roles in the UK Government's management of the Covid-19 pandemic which took the lives of over 200,000 Brits. But his high-flying political career came to a halt after he was caught on camera breaking social distancing rules he was involved in imposing.
Leaked footage showed him kissing his longtime friend and aide Gina Coladangelo and made headlines in the press, ultimately leading to his resignation as Health Secretary.
Both Hancock and Coladangelo were married with children at the time of the affair.

What happened between Matt Hancock and Gina Coladangelo in 2021?
The photographs of then-Health Secretary Matt Hancock kissing his aide Gina Coladangelo in the midst of the deadly pandemic angered the Brits as he wasn’t just cheating on his wife which would be his private matter but he was breaking the very lockdown and social distancing rules he was involved in imposing.

The pair first met Hancock whilst they were studying at Oxford University. They became close friends but despite their bond, went on to marry other people.
Hancock tied the knot with osteopath Martha Hoyer Millar in 2006 and Coladangelo married Oliver Tress of fashion brand Oliver Bonas in 2009.
Hancock appointed Coladangelo to the Department of Health and Social Care in March 2020 and a few months later, she was promoted to the role of non-executive director.
When their affair came to light, she resigned, as did he.
Both also separated from their partners.

Are Matt Hancock and Gina Coladangelo still together?
Hancock, who is still an MP, and his former aide are still together two years after their affair was exposed.
In fact, they seem to be very much in love.
Hancock once said on The Diary Of A CEO podcast:
We spent a lot of time together, ironically trying to get me to be able to communicate in a more emotionally intelligent way, and we fell in love.
Their romantic bond was confirmed on I'm A Celebrity 2022 when Matt Hancock was seen rushing to be with his girlfriend on the famous bridge during the live final.
The third-place finalist was heard shouting out as he hugged her:
Oh my God, seriously... oh I love you so much.
They were also seen holding hands and smiling at each other during the Cheltenham Festival in March this year.
Hancock and Coladangelo are reportedly yet to finalise their divorces.
It was revealed that following the split with her husband, his wife Martha left the London home they shared together.
