It may start from a tiny change in routine and, the next thing you know, it becomes a pattern of your life. Not only do these habits damage your health, but they also throw water on all your efforts to maintain your weight. The worst part is we do not even realise the harm these habits cause us. Let’s find out what these habits are

Skipping Breakfast

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Studies have shown that people who have breakfast regularly tend to lose weight quickly and have healthier lives than those who don’t. It gives you the strength to take on the day and boosts your metabolism. To avoid skipping breakfast, try to keep ready-made healthy breakfast options like whole fruit, yoghurt, smoothies and more that you can consume on the go!

Snacking Endlessly

All of us are guilty of unhealthy snacking around the clock. Needless to say, it doesn’t bear good results. Mostly these snacks are full of calories and empty carbs. To avoid doing this, keep healthy snacks like hummus, carrots, almonds or yoghurt around you. This will ensure healthy snacking.

Nighttime noshing

Recent studies have found out that when you eat is as important as what you eat. Since there is no physical activity, most of what we eat at night becomes unhealthy fat in our bodies. Hence, to avoid this sneaky habit, try to brush after dinner and resist cravings. If they still persist, reach for something small, like fruit or string cheese.

Eating too fast

Gulping down food is never healthy! Eating too quickly hampers the brain to stomach connection. Your brain isn’t able to catch up with your stomach, so you are likely to eat more than required. To avoid this, try to time your eating, take smaller bites and chew food thoroughly.

Junking your way

All of us are guilty of going heavy on junk foods. Not only are these high-fat, high-sugar foods unhealthy but also addictive. Studies have found junk food has the same effect of addiction as cocaine or heroin. The best way to avoid this would be to make your own food. Limit your food takeout orders and indulge more of your time in the kitchen.
