This occurrence is highly rare and the child has been diagnosed with a condition called Tetra-Amelia, an autosomal recessive congenital disorder.

The video shows a woman holding the newborn in a cloth, the baby's body is completely visible showing no signs of any limbs. However, paediatrician, Dr Suresh Aggarwal suggests that despite her condition the baby is perfectly fine.

What is Tetra-Amelia syndrome?

Tetra-Amelia occurs due to a gene mutation and is extremely rare, affecting only 1 in 100,000 births and is characterised by the absence of limbs. However, the disease can also affect the skeleton, face and other organs. Many babies born with Tetra-Amelia often have breathing issues and do not survive long past infancy.

Despite this, there are many with Tetra-Amelia who live long and healthy lives such as Australian, Nicholas James Vujicic. His life did not come without challenges as due to his condition he suffered extensively from school bullying and fears for his future. After reaching a low point and attempting to take his own life, Nicholas had a come up and is now one of the world's most sought after public speakers.
