As the Sussex couple tries to tone down the content of their Netflix docuseries and Prince Harry’s memoir, they may be planning for a reconciliation year.

Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral was a glimpse of how things could go for the Sussex family in the future. Amidst the many olive branches extended and accepted between The Firm and the Sussex couple, there is allegedly a set timeline by which Prince Harry and Meghan would reconcile with the Royal Family.

2023 is the year

Reportedly, the couple had planned a carefully laid out plan for the late monarch – Queen Elizabeth II – to charm her and find their way back into the family. However, that was scuppered when she died last month, making her son Charles the King of England.

Insiders have claimed that the couple has always been very careful of criticising the Queen in public and now that Prince Harry’s father has become the monarch (sooner than he expected), it’s time for them to make changes in the Netflix series and memoir.

A source told The Sun:

Next year 2023 was to be their reconciliation year.

Allegedly sources have claimed that the Netflix series and memoir were the Sussex couple’s final way of attacking The Firm before they build bridges to royalty again.

Treading lightly

However, if any of their truth bombs were to exploit the king or Queen consort’s reputation, a way back into the family would be near impossible. The source added:

They have always been careful to not criticise the monarch. They have always tried to be respectful to the Queen.
But the Queen has now died and Charles and Camilla are the King and Queen.
Clearly, this reconciliation attempt would never work if they have been critical of the new monarch, or both.

As such the couple is trying their best to tone down things said and done for their upcoming media projects.

The last 12 months of their life have been branded as their ‘era of visibility.’Robert Johnson, Royal author, confirmed:

It shows they are a very calculating couple and yet again their timing has completely misfired.

Considering The Cut’s bombshell interview, Johnson added:

Now this plot for a year of reconciliation. Their timing is appalling as always.
