Small white dots on your face are quite common. They are called milia but are also known asmilkspots and they generally affect babies and children but tend to disappear on their own. However, these small clumps of dead cells that form small cysts can also affect adults but, despite being completely harmless, are harder to get rid of.

What causes them?

Several things could possibly cause adults to develop these little spots: long-term sun damage, using creams that contain steroids or repeatedly using certain skin treatments such as those involving lasers.

How to get rid of them

There are several ways to get rid of these little spots. First of all, you could try making your own face scrub by mixing sugar (which is a natural exfoliating agent) with lemon juice (which is known for its antiseptic and antibacterial properties). Gently exfoliate your skin with this scrub, wait 15 to 20 minutes and then rinse.

Other ingredients are also known for being very good for your skin such as castor oil, honey, pomegranate, fenugreek leaves and, in particular, products containing tea tree oil which is very good at disinfecting your skin. Of course, you should always take certain precautions in your daily life to make sure you don’t damage your skin any more than it already is, such as always removing your make-up before bed and using steam baths to get rid of the impurities from your skin.
