While her on-screen dad Danny Dyer announced he will be leaving EastEnders later this year, Strictly star Rose Ayling-Ellis will soon be making a return to Walford. Some fans feared that Rose would not return to the soap after her phenomenal success on Strictly Come Dancing - but Rose has already returned to filming.

Rose Ayling-Ellis EastEnders return

Appearing on This Morning alongside dance partner Giovanni Pernice on Tuesday, Rose confirmed:

My first day back was yesterday. It was good fun, it was weird to be back. Everyone was so excited to see me again. Back in The Vic, it was really lovely.

Frankie has been off-screen since early November as BBC bosses gave Rose time off to focus on her training for Strictly. If Rose has returned to filming this week, we’ll most likely be seeing Frankie back in Albert Square around March.

Strictly tour 2022

Rose will have a busy schedule over the next month as in addition to filming for EastEnders, she’s also starring in the 33-show Strictly Come Dancing tour across the UK. The Strictly tour kicks off in Birmingham on 20 January and ends in London on 13 February. But Rose doesn’t seem to be at all daunted by the prospect, saying:

It’s not so intense because we won’t be doing new dances, we’ll be doing old dances. I can still enjoy the experience of Strictly, but it’s nice and slow.

As well as dancing with partner Giovanni Pernice again, Rose will also be reunited with former EastEnders co-star and Strictly 2021 runner-up Maisie Smith for the tour. Maisie was drafted in as a last minute replacement for AJ Odudu who is sadly still unable to dance due to her injury.
