Princess Anne’s children, Peter and Zara are usually out of the spotlight. This may have to do with the fact that during their upbringing their parents ensured they had as normal lives as possible. This decision is also the reason why Peter and Zara do not have royal titles even though they were Queen Elizabeth’s grandchildren.

However, as 2024 proves to be a continually challenging year for the Royal Family, it now seems like Peter Phillips has been impacted. An exclusive from The Sun, released in the evening of 9 April 2024, reports that he has broken up with his girlfriend of three years, Lindsay Wallace.

Peter Phillips breaks up with girlfriend

According to The Sun’s exclusive, the couple isn’t letting the split affect their initial friendship as they ‘remain amicable’. Moreover, the tabloid specifies that the breakup isn’t due to a third person being involved.

An anonymous source spoke to The Sun and seemed to confirm the split:

They were friends before their relationship blossomed. But Peter and Lindsay have gone their separate ways as the relationship simply ran its course.

A friend of the couple also spoke with Hello! and explained that the breakup came as a surprise. They said:

It obviously came as a shock as most people thought they were absolutely rock solid, it’s very sad.

According to that alleged friend, the split is motivated by the fact that Peter Phillip travels a lot for work while Lindsay Wallace is a stay-at-home mum based in Scotland. On that the source continued:

Peter has been travelling all over the world and has been incredibly busy and Lindsay is based up in Scotland, so it's been hard for them to see each other.

Peter and Lindsay got together in 2021 after being friends for a while. Coincidentally, Lindsay was a classmate of Peter’s younger sister Zara. It's through her that they reconnected after Peter’s divorce.

In 2019, a school reunion meant that Peter and Lindsay had the opportunity to reconnect and since then, the two were seen at several royal events together. For instance, they attended Wimbledon and Royal Ascot. It is also reported that Lindsay met the late Queen.

Peter Phillips’ previous relationship

Prior to that relationship with Lindsay Wallace, which seemed ‘rock solid’, Peter Phillip had already been married once. In 2008, he married Autumn Phillips in a ceremony at St George’s Chapel in Windsor.

Throughout their marriage they welcomed two children, Savannah and Isla. In February 2020, it was announced that the two had decided to part ways. In a statement shared by the BBC they explained it was ‘the best course of action for their two children and ongoing friendship’.

The two had met in Montreal in 2003 at the Canadian Grand Prix. At the time, Autumn worked as a management consultant and Peter worked for the Williams Formula 1 team.
