No non-working royals

Whether there will be a second balcony appearance during the long weekend is still unsure but for the balcony appearance on June 2, the guest list is final. Only working royals will be present on the balcony for the usual flypast at the end of the ceremony on Thursday, June 2nd. A Buckingham Palace source confirmed:

After careful consideration, the Queen has decided this year’s traditional trooping of the Colour balcony appearance on Thursday 2 June will be limited to Her Majesty and those members of the royal family who are currently undertaking official public duties on behalf of the Queen.

In other words, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will not be present on the Balcony. However, they are invited to the celebration. Another royal family member who is excluded from the list is disgraced Prince Andrew. Meanwhile, The Queen is excited and looking forward to the celebration. A source added:

Her Majesty is looking forward to the weekend and will be taking part in the celebrations but her presence will not be confirmed until much nearer to the time or even on the day itself.

From the US to the UK

Despite the decision that only working royals would be present on the balcony, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have confirmed that they will be attending the celebration. This would mark their family’s first visit ever since they left in March 2020. The couple’s spokesperson confirmed:

Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are excited and honoured to attend The Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations this June with their children.

The 96-year-old monarch will meet her 10-months-old Lilibet who will also be celebrating her first birthday with her royal family on June 4.
