He was found to have inflated the value of his properties in order to get better terms on loans and pay less tax. In the wake of this drama, Melania has come out with an unexpected announcement that has absolutely nothing to do with her husband or his indictments:

How Melania made her unexpected announcement
Melania made the announcement on X, the very platform on which her husband’s name has been intermittently trending as his election campaign and criminal charges take turns hitting headlines.
The message was pretty to-the-point with a light dash of patriotism:
I am pleased to continue USA Memorabilia’s tradition of celebrating the season with A Red, White and Blue Christmas. This year, I found myself looking to my love for our great nation for inspiration. May everyone experience an abundance of peace & love during the holiday season.
Now, Melania’s comments of Christmases past are coming back to haunt her. In 2018 she decorated the White House with blood-red Christmas trees and was criticised for this crazy break from tradition. In a released recording she could be heard reacting to the public’s comments, saying ‘You know, who gives a f**k about Christmas stuff and decoration but I need to do it, right?’
