Love Island 2021will reportedly start on Sunday 27th June. That’s just under 12 weeks away - and compared to the 13 months its been since we last got any villa action, that’s nothing! It is a later start date than we’ve seen for previous series of Love Island however, as they’ve typically started in early June.

According to a source who spoke to MailOnline:

Crew members are scheduled to fly out to Majorca on June 20 – with the series expected to launch a week later. The delayed launch date will not have an impact on the length of the series, with the show still running for a duration of eight weeks.

Where will Love Island 2021 be filmed?

Bosses seem confident that they’ll be able to return to the traditional Majorca villa for Love Island 2021 as coronavirus travel restrictions are hopefully set to be loosened. However, they have reportedly got aback-up villa in Jerseyready to go in case anything changes between now and then.

Winter Love Island cancelled

There’s also some bad news for Love Islandfans as it’s been confirmed that there are currently no plans for Winter Love Island to return in 2022. The MailOnline’s source said:

Winter Love Island on the other hand has been 'indefinitely postponed' as bosses put all their energies until the summer series.

This was later backed up by ITV in a statement to Digital Spy. The channel confirmed:

We are currently focusing on the forthcoming summer series.

So far, there has only been one series of Winter Love Island, which aired in January 2020 and saw Finley Tapp and Paige Turley crowned the winners.
