BGT’s Alesha Dixon leaves fans unimpressed after the last episode: ‘Another sympathy golden buzzer’

Alesha Dixon gave her golden buzzer last night to Chicken Shed, an inclusive theatre company. Their performance left Alesha in tears and she couldn’t hold herself back from giving them a ‘well-deserved’ Golden Buzzer. However, fans are left unimpressed as they believe the golden buzzer was a ‘pity’ Golden Buzzer and not a ‘deserved’ Golden Buzzer.

BGT’s Alesha Dixon gives her Golden Buzzer to Chicken Shed

The act started with three members of Chicken Shed appearing on stage and explaining their act of singing and dancing routine to the judges - Simon, Alesha, Amanda and Bruno. As the performance started, the three were soon joined by other members of the theatre group which ultimately got a standing ovation from the BGT judges.

Simon Cowell - who denied getting a facelift - felt that it was ‘really really really’ a Golden Buzzer moment. Meanwhile, Alesha added:

I love every single thing you stand for. Inclusivity is so important. Everyone is represented and you do that in abundance.
And you’re giving young people opportunities and platforms and I don’t know what else is more important than that.

The group explained how inclusivity is at the heart of the group and everyone is welcomed in the group without audition, reported Mirror.

BGT fans unimpressed with Golden Buzzer act

While the judges went crazy for their act, BGT fans were less than impressed. Many believe that the group wasn’t ‘that good’ to get a Golden Buzzer and it was only given to them because of their ‘sob story. Taking to Instagram, one commented:

Here we go again another sympathy golden buzzer, I get the message but its not golden buzzer worthy

Another two chimed in:

Sympathy vote as usual🙄
Pity act, no surprise it got the golden buzzer 🙄

Some even felt that the magician act which left Simon with a ‘disturbed mind’ deserved to get the Golden Buzzer than Chicken Shed. One wrote:

It’s a shame that acts as good as the magician who’s just been on will ultimately face the same fate as other quality acts each year, and be voted off on the live shows to accommodate a choir like this.

Meanwhile, BGT fans on Twitter felt like Alesha ‘wasted’ her Golden Buzzer. One tweeted:

Alesha wasted that golden buzzer #BGT

Another two added:

Same old crap getting the golden buzzer every year. I thought David would have done it for this act so was glad he was gone but Alesha has done it instead. Boring and messy. #bgt #BritainsGotTalent
#bgt Brace yourself for the kid acts, the dancing kids, singing kids, annoying kids and choirs, lots of choirs and the unfunny comedians that Alesha will give the golden buzzer to! 🙄
