After the success of the Big Brother reboot this year, ITV bosses are planning to bring back Celebrity Big Brother (CBB) next year. Show bosses are trying to recreate CBB’s magic with a bigger and better lineup. A source said:

The more controversial the line-up the better. They want it to really come back with a bang.

In a bid to make the show a success, they are looking to cast Strictly Come Dancing judge Shirley Ballas.

According to The Sun, ITV bosses are willing to blow their budget to get the controversial Strictly judge on board for the show. The 63-year-old would be CBB’s first major signing if she says yes. Shirley is a big fan of the show and would be delighted to be on it. A source confirmed:

Shirley is deep in discussions about swapping her judges' seat for the Big Brother diary room chair.
She is a big fan of the show and said she wanted to take part to show the public a different side to her than the woman people are used to seeing on Strictly.

However, her participation would not be her decision alone. Reportedly, she’s holding back until the BBC takes a position on the matter. The source revealed:

The only thing holding Shirley back is the BBC’s position on her taking the job as she wants to keep everyone happy.

Meanwhile, ITV believes she will be a great signing for the show and is willing to offer her big money to be on the show. The source added:

ITV think Shirley would be a sensational signing and they’re keen to get her on board.
She is confident, outspoken and would make brilliant television

Celebrity Big Brother 2024 - Everything we know about it so far

The show will return on-screen after being off-screen for 7 years. In a statement announcing the news, ITV revealed:

Celebrity Big Brother will see a new cast of famous faces isolated from the outside world as they embark on the ultimate social experiment, taking up residence in the iconic Big Brother house.
Leaving luxury behind, the celebrities will take part in weekly nominations and tough tasks with cameras capturing their every move. Who will win the hearts of the nation, go all the way to the finish line and be crowned the winner?

The Series will air on ITV1 and ITVx in March 2024. Will Best and AJ Odudu are understood to be hosting the Celeb version as well, but nothing is finalised as of now.
