"I have found him" Katie Price reveals husband Lee Andrews is alive in Dubai prison

For nearly two weeks, Katie Price was left in agony after her husband Lee Andrews vanished in Dubai—only to receive a rushed phone call from a notorious prison. How did a glamorous jet-set life unravel into international headlines and what’s next for the couple?

When Lee Andrews, husband of reality star and former model Katie Price, disappeared in mid-May, speculation ran wild. Within a matter of days, concern ballooned into a media frenzy. Katie publicly appealed for help and even as rumours swirled about a possible kidnapping, authorities, family, and fans were desperate for answers. Then, in a dramatic twist, a hurried phone call from a Dubai prison confirmed he was alive—but raised even more questions about how he ended up behind bars, allegedly detained on suspicion of espionage.

Disappearance in Dubai: From Kidnap Fears to Prison Reality

The saga began around 12 May when Katie Price reported her husband missing in Dubai. After vanishing, Lee sent his wife a chilling video showing himself hooded and hands tied, claiming he’d been grabbed as he tried to reach London. Katie told The Sun:

"I have found him – he is alive, and he is ok. I told him how worried I had been and told him I loved him. It was very rushed, but he said the authorities out there thought he was a spy. I don't know much more than that right now."

This revelation didn’t put the rumours to rest—rather, it shifted the focus from a disappearance to the murky reasons behind Lee’s sudden detention. According to Peter Andrews, Lee’s father who runs an air conditioning business in Al Quoz:

"Lee is OK. He has not been kidnapped but he is under arrest. I don’t know on what charge. I’m not sure where he is being held. But he will call me later today. He is not at my house."

International Intrigue: Fraud Allegations and Espionage Suspicion

The timeline of Lee Andrews' disappearance quickly overlapped with the involvement of police, the British Foreign Office, and Interpol. Authorities in Dubai said he faced "many cases against him," with multiple arrest warrants mainly for fraud, according to Brigadier Khalid Khalifa al Avadhi of Dubai’s police, who told Daily Mail:

"There are many cases against him."

During a brief phone call, Lee told Katie the authorities thought he was a spy—detained "on suspicion of espionage"—although the exact details remain unclear.

Evidence from the ground paints a complex picture. Lee had not been seen at his usual gym since April, and both he and his father had left their Satwa apartment about four months before his arrest, according to their letting agent. On 17 May, Katie filed a missing person’s report at the British embassy after being unable to reach Lee, whose phone location was switched off after he sent the alarming video. ITV confirmed that the Foreign Office was assisting a British national detained in the UAE.

Reports also mention Lee may have faced a four-figure fine, with a possible release date set for Monday, 1 June 2026—assuming the charges are not escalated.

Public Fallout and a Family on Edge

Amid the turmoil, Katie became the public voice of the search, even as she faced pushback from some of Lee’s relatives. Friends and family argued over what constituted "fake news", leading to tense exchanges online, especially as Katie’s social media statements raised suspicions about Lee’s fate.

"There’s nothing I can do, nothing more that I can say. And the police are dealing with it. I’m just leaving it to the police," she admitted, visibly worn down by international attention and her own distress. At one point, Katie even said, "For my own sanity, I am taking a step back."

The family drama unfolded against the backdrop of a high-profile police operation. Interpol and the British consulate were also reportedly involved, adding more weight to the affair and turning a personal crisis into a major news story. The phone call on 27 May finally confirmed "he is alive". But the lack of detail about the legal process and the possibility of more serious charges leaves many questions hanging, both for Katie, Lee, and their wider families.
