DECIEM wants its customers to know that hyperconsumerism is one of the biggest threats to the planet and in order to drive the point home, on Black Friday, the 27th of November, both their brick and mortar stores, as well as their online store, will be closed for 24 hours. Blend. Baobab. Brilliant.⁣ ⁣ The Ordinary “B” Oil is an oil as versatile as its name. This formulation offers a blend of squalane and oils of marula, argan, baobab, pataua, brazil nut, inca inchi, rosehip and borage for the maintenance of healthy-looking skin. ⁣ ⁣ On top of all this goodness, “B” Oil also solubilizes a purified form of micro-algae in the blend of the aforementioned oils to create a balanced formula that offers hydrating benefits, support against environmental stressors and promote visible radiance. The formula imparts a golden-green hue and a mild herbal odor, and may be used both AM and PM. ⁣ ⁣ Apply a few drops daily or as needed to the entire face, ideally after water-based treatments, to give the skin a rich seal of hydration. ⁣ ⁣ You may also wish to mix the product with your moisturizer/foundation or apply to the body for extra moisture and glow. (CA$9.20/US$9.20/AU$18.50/£8.70/€9.20)

So, what are the Ordinary’s absolute must-haves?

Whether you’re a seasoned skincare veteran or you’re a complete newbie, the Ordinary is a great brand for providing simple products for all skin types and skin concerns.

Due to the company’s pure popularity, their products are constantly sold out, we all know the absolute struggle of getting hold of the Ordinary’s Niacinimaide 10% Zinc 1% or their Hyaluronic acid serum. But, now is the time to stock up.

If you’re planning to make a virtual stop at the Ordinary this November then there are definitely a few items that you absolutely need to make sure are in your cart.

1. AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution (£4.54)

This product is not one for the weak and is very much targeted to the more experienced skincare junkies. However, that hasn’t stopped the blood-red formula from going viral. This famous peel is constantly sold out so get it while you can.

(1/3) 👋 We have (too) many Hyaluronic Acid (HA) options across our brands and this post will highlight the differences that make each product unique. Hyaluronic Acid is most loved for its incredible water retention properties. In general, the most common form of HA incorporated in skin care products is too large of a molecule to penetrate the skin. Instead, it sits on the surface and can draw moisture out of the skin, making the surface feel soft and hydrated temporarily, while making you feel like you need more HA after the product is rinsed 🙈. The key to true skin comfort is in the molecular weight of the Hyaluronic Acid used within a formula. HA needs to be absorbed to ensure that it is able to provide lasting hydration and not just temporary effects. For absorption into the skin at multiple depths, it's really important to combine varying molecular weights of HA. All our HA offerings use multiple molecular weights to encourage hydration to build within the skin and not just on the surface. We know that having so many options can be confusing, so we're breaking down our HA skincare offerings over the next 3 posts: ⁣ 💦 The Ordinary's Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 contains 3 forms of Hyaluronic Acid, combining low-, medium- and high-molecular weights in addition to an HA crosspolymer to offer multi-depth hydration and promote the look of plump skin. A net concentration of 2% HA is an extremely high concentration which may increase the absorption time of this formula. This formula also incorporates Vitamin B5 to enhance surface hydration and support healthy-looking skin. We have also introduced a hyaluronic acid alternative within The Ordinary (Marine Hyaluronics 🐠) which is a low viscosity formula containing marine-derived water reservoirs and several skin health-supporting amino acids to attract and hold water similar to hyaluronic acid while absorbing quickly and efficiently. 2. Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 (£4.54)

Hyaluronic acid is the Ordinary’s claim to fame and also an absolute must for skin hydration and is great for all skin types. Just apply the serum underneath your moisturiser to help the skin lock in the benefits. This is also a great item to combat any winter dryness.

3. Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% (£3.85)

Niacinimide is an absolute holy grail product formulated to reduce sebum production and reduce acneand blemishes. This serum is constantly sold out so make sure you get your hands on it while you can!

Surely you have been made acquaintances with this crowd favourite, but if you haven’t, let us introduce The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%. 👩‍🔬 Niacinamide, which is a form of Vitamin B3, is a water-soluble, high strength vitamin, and mineral formula that targets the signs of congestion and blemishes whilst also reinforcing our skin barrier function. The well-loved ingredient has also been shown to reduce the appearance of pores, improve uneven tone and brighten the skin. With the added Zinc PCA at a concentration at 1%, this important component helps balance sebum product and regulate it to more manageable levels. With all these benefits, you can see why Niacinamide + Zinc is such a popular icon. ✨ We recommend applying this in either the AM or PM (or both if you just can’t get enough 😏), before anhydrous/oil and cream/suspension formulations. If you wish to also incorporate Vitamin C into your routine, we recommend using Niacinamide in alternate routines due to the potential of Niacinamide being able to reduce the efficacy and integrity of Vitamin C formulations. (30ml: CA$5.90/US$5.90/AU$9.90/£5.00/€5.90, 60ml: CA$10.60/US$10.60/AU$17.80/£8.90/€10.60)

4. Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2% (£3.77)

This is just one of the Ordinary’s many vitamin C products but it is also one of the best. The suspended ascorbic acid formula not only helps to brighten the skin but it can also reduce hyperpigmentation as well as boost the effectiveness of your SPF.

5. Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG (£4.47)

If you’re one of those people who just always has bags under their eyes no matter how much sleep they get then this serum is for you. The Ordinary’s caffeine solution will help reduce puffiness and dark circles under the eyes so you can really look bright-eyed and bushy-tailed.
