When it comes to thin hair in women, one crucial thing to take into account is to act as soon as you notice it happening. The earlier you detect the problem the easier it'll be for you to manage it. After you've consulted a dermatologist to make sure that what you are dealing with is not a genetic hair disorder, your first mission is to shop around for a quality hair shampoo and conditioner that matches your hair type. This also includes investing in a good leave-in conditioner and dry shampoo for days where wetting your hair is not required.

Now that you're equipped with good quality products it's time to learn how to properly and effectively use them.

Avoid tangled hair for maximum volume

First, always remember to brush your hair though before you shower to de-tangle it and preserve more strands.

Second, conditioning your hair might seem like a no brainer but what you have to watch out for is to not go overboard with where it is that you apply this conditioner. Ideally, we're looking for application on the bottom two thirds of your hair. After you've done this, rinse thoroughly.

Third, opt for spot-treating areas in your hair that require a little bit more love. And you can do this with a leave-in conditioner so as not to overwhelm the rest of your glorious mane. For instance, if most of the tangling in your hair happens in the nape of your neck then focus the application on that area only.

The fourth tip to manage thinning hair is to avoid brushing it when it is wet. But if you absolutely have to, try using a wide-tooth comb to minimize breakage.

Lastly, it is recommended to sleep with your hair in a loose braid or ponytail after carefully brushing it before bed to avoid any overnight dreadlock-like knots to form.

All hair types are beautiful

Lastly, embrace your hair no matter how thin or thick it is. With how quickly trends are changing these days, we might all end up shaving our heads, so try not stressing too much about it either.
