Two of the new arrivals on The Cabins this week might look a little familiar – as both of them have been on reality TV dating shows before.
We’re into the third and final week of the first series of ITV2's The Cabins – and new faces are continuing to show up to try their luck at finding love on a very unusual first date. But two of this week’s fresh-faced daters aren’t actually new to the art of searching for love in front of the whole nation.
Who is April Banbury?
Beauty queen and bridal fashion designer April is the current Ms Great Britain – but that’s not her only claim to fame. She also appeared on the fourth series of The Bachelor UK, where she battled it out with 24 other girls for the affections of rugby player and ex-partner of Charlotte Church, Gavin Henson.
April made it all the way to the semi-final of the series, where she was part of the final three before being dumped in favour of Layla Manoochehri and Carianne Barrow, who went on to win the show. April was not altogether gracious in defeat, saying at the time:
Gavin‘s a plonker for picking Carianne.
Ten years on from her experience on The Bachelorand April is still on the lookout for lasting love. Explaining her decision to go on The Cabins, she said:
I do such a terrible job of dating. I can't find anyone suitable for myself, so I thought I'd leave it to some professionals to see if they can have a go.
Who is Clinton?
Personal trainer Clinton has also been on reality TV before – as he appeared on the Paul O’Grady fronted reboot of Blind Date a couple of years ago. Clinton says:
I signed up to The Cabins because it’s a new experience for me and hopefully I’ll meet the girl of my dreams. I’d like a date that’s fun, exciting and maybe something different, that I’ve not done before.
