For the first summer in five years, there’ll be no new series of UK Love Island this year. Instead, ITV producers will be filling the gap in the schedule by broadcasting the first series of Love Island Australia, which took place in 2018, the same year Jack and Dani won our version, but has never before been aired in the UK. The show’s host Sophie Monk spoke to The Sun to tease what we’ve got in store…

She said:

Australians and Brits have a very similar sense of humour. Aussies have very self-deprecating humour. I'm telling you, it's the best show I've ever watched them. I was obsessed with this series… Brits are in love with their series, but it might just be different. It's also the first series so it's fresh and that's always fun. The cast is brilliant.

Without giving too much away, Sophie revealed that three couples ended up going all the way whilst they were in the villa, whilst others waited until they were on the outside. She also made it clear there’ll be plenty of larger-than-life characters on the show, teasing a fight that gets out of hand and saying: ‘There's one person in particular who you think 'do they not know the cameras are there?’
