Renovations on the Love Island 2021 villa have begun

Builders have been pictured getting to work in the Love Island villa in Majorca.

Love Island 2021 is now just a month away. After a longer wait than usual, we’ll all finally be getting our long, hot summer very soon. With the series set to kick off on 28th June, building work has begun in the Majorca villa used in previous series in preparation for Love Island series 7.

Where is Love Island 2021 filmed?

There was a lot of uncertainty as to whether Love Island filming could return to Majorca this year due to ongoing coronavirus restrictions. There were rumours that the show could switch to a UK villa to avoid foreign travel difficulties for the cast and crew. As a Spanish island, Majorca is currently on the UK’s amber list.

According to a source who spoke to The Sun:

Love Island bosses are determined to return to the villa this summer and have worked hard to make it happen. Although they are confident the series will go ahead in the original location, there are still concerns over rules suddenly changing. However, at the moment it's looking good.

The pictures of builders working on the Majorca villa this week seem to confirm that Love Island 2021 will be filmed in Majorca, barring any last-minute changes to regulations. The pictures from the set show large Love Island-branded signs with COVID rules around the site and workers were all masked.

Love Island 2021 contestants

No contestants have yet been confirmed for Love Island 2021 but that hasn’t stopped the rumours coming thick and fast. Contestants are said to include fire-eater Alexis Bailey, junior NHS doctor Toluwa Adepeju, influencer Aimee-Rose Francis, dentistry student Zach Chugthai and boxer Harley Benn.
