Love Island 2021 filming has officially begun

It’s now less than two months until Love Island finally returns to our screens after a long, long wait. It’s been the longest gap between Love Island series since the show began in 2015, as the coronavirus pandemic made it impossible to film the show last year. Now, though, filming has begun for Love Island 2021.

Love Island 2021 filming

Laura Whitmore was pictured filming in Barking on Tuesday. Although the filming location was less than tropical, producers jazzed the East London street up with some extra greenery as well as a number of bright red inflatable flamingos and some of the show’s signature suitcases.

The new series of Love Island 2021 is clearly going for a bright red theme as a bright red Jeep emblazoned with the iconic Love Island loveheart and topped with a loudspeaker was driven through the street. Laura was also dressed in a glamorous scarlet jumpsuit, accessorised with a simple black belt.

On the same day, Laura teased the shoot on Instagram with a picture from her trailer. Posing at the door of her trailer in a camel coat and grey and black leopard print leggings, Laura captioned the picture: ‘Shoot day! This is BIG’.

When is Love Island 2021 starting?

Love Island 2021 is expected to start airing from Monday 28th June. Laura Whitmore will be returning as presenter and her husband Iain Stirling will return as the voiceover. The cast is yet to be confirmed but there have been a number of rumoured Islanders - including Chelsea boy James Price and boxer Harley Benn.
