Taking to her main Instagram feed, Laura shared a promo clip from last year’s series of Winter Love Island. Captioning the post ‘I think we could all do with some Love this summer... ❤️’, the post has gotten over 300,000 views – with many fans taking it as confirmation that the new series will go ahead this summer.

Amongst the excited comments from Love Island fans, Laura’s husband and Love Island narrator Iain Stirling couldn’t resist living up to his Instagram handle (iaindoesjokes) by cheekily commenting: ‘Who are all these people and why are you not socially distanced!’

Will Love Island 2021 go ahead?

Love Island producers are said to be determined to put the show on this summer, after the coronavirus pandemic forced last year’s series to be shelved. This year’s series is likely to be the most expensive ever as producers will have to put in place coronavirus safety precautions, such as quarantining contestants before they enter the villa.

This will certainly be no easy feat, but with other reality shows including Dancing On Ice, Strictly Come Dancing and I’m A Celeb having managed it, things do look hopeful. ITV also filmed new reality dating show The Cabins under strict coronavirus measures, proving dating shows can be made in a Covid-safe way.
