ITV's brand new dating show is set to fill the gap left by Love Island this winter

Whilst there sadly won’t be a new series of Winter Love Island this year (the show is due to make its comeback with a bumper series in the summer) because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, ITV have lined up something else to fill the gap–a brand new dating show with a twist called The Cabins.

What is The Cabins all about?

Touted as ‘the new Love Island,’ The Cabins will see its contestants take a much more intimate approach to dating. Whilst Love Island sees a whole group of sexy singles bundled into one villa, The Cabins will set up individual couples in their own cabins for an intense 24-hour ‘first date.’

ITV teased:

Nestled together in their intimate cabins, the singletons will have quality time to really get to know their date. From heartfelt moments or declarations of love, to awkward silences and difficult dating conversations, viewers will be able to follow all the antics and find out if the sparks fly or quickly fizzle out.

The Cabins has been in the works for a while–we first reported on it back in August when ITV2 were calling on singletons to apply. Applications were open until 30th November–the same day the first teaser trailer for the new show aired on ITV during I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

When is The Cabins on ITV?

Whilst this year’s edition of Winter Love Island was cancelled in the light of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, The Cabins is set to air on ITV2 and ITV Hub this coming January. The show is set to be filmed in cosy luxury chalets in the UK and contestants will likely have to abide by strict Covid safety measures.
