Renewed for another season, Grey’s Anatomy is continuing to be a worldwide success. One of the reasons for this success is Ellen Pompeo, aka Meredith Grey, who recently admitted why she didn’t want to leave the medical series.

A legendary character

For 15 years now, there have been quite a few departures from Grey’s Anatomy! One of the only actresses that has been in the show since the beginning is Ellen Pompeo, the main character in this medical series with 332 episodes, which is a record.

The actress, who plays Meredith Grey explained to the Hollywood Reporter why she wanted to stay in the series, even though she has thought about leaving more than once.

‘When your face and your voice have been part of something that’s generated $3 billion for one of the biggest corporations in the world, you start to feel like, ‘OK, maybe I do deserve a piece of this’ she told the American media.

It’s worth knowing that so far, Ellen Pompeo has signed on until the end of season 16. She still doesn’t know if she will renew her contract or not, even though she admitted that ‘the network and studio continue to offer me incentives and make me offers that I can’t refuse.’

So it looks like Meredith Grey could be sticking around for a good while longer, as long as they keep offering her more money...
