The couple started dating back in 2017 after meeting through friends, but reports have now emerged that the pair have decided to put an end to their relationship.

Lucy, who played Bethany Platt on Corrie Street once joked that neither couples could split 'because then double dates would go out of the window'.

The break-up occurred just before Fallon is was due to embark on her latest television appearance on the new reality show Don't Rock the Boat.

It is unclear why the couple have decided to split up, but on the surface, their breakup does look to have become another victim to the lockdown. A source told The Sun:

She and Tom have called it quits and are no longer together. They spent lockdown together but it gave them time to evaluate what they want. They decided taking time apart was the best idea and they have gone their separate ways.

The source continued to hint that Tom may still be reeling from the split:

Tom has never courted the spotlight and has quit social media because he doesn't want to see anything related to her.

Back in February things were looking much brighter for the now-former couple and Lucy even discussed that she was waiting for her boyfriend to propose. She told Metro:

I want Tom to propose to me at some point and I want to move house. I like having a project.

She also stated last year:

I am so loved up, we're enjoying life. I don't think there are any wedding bells, you'd have to ask him! I drop hints every day. We'll have to see. I may have to wait a lifetime.

Is there already a new prospective boyfriend for Lucy?

But, it looks like Lucy might soon be too busy to think about her break-up as she is set to be one of 12 celebs to take part in the new show Don't Rock the Boat alongside Youtuber Joe Weller who has over 5.2 million subscribers.

Fans of the two have high hopes that the new show will result in the celebs getting together.
