It’s going to be D. Dyer squared on Albert Square next month as Dani Dyer is set to appear alongside her dad Danny, who plays Queen Vic landlord Mick Carter. Dani Dyer has been cast as a cab driver who picks up her dad’s character and her appearance is expected to be a cameo role only.
Dani Dyer’s EastEnders role
A source told The Sun:
Soap fans are going to be thrilled to see father and daughter acting opposite each other. Unlike some other celebrities who come on the show, she won’t be playing herself, she will be a cabbie who picks up Mick in the street. But it’s only a small role and not one which bosses are planning on keeping as an ongoing character.
Dani’s EastEnders appearance has already been filmed and is expected to be aired sometime in June. As well as being a wink to Love Island viewers and fans of the Dyers, the appearance had some practical benefits too–as Dani and Danny are already in the same coronavirus bubble.
Dani has been after a role in EastEnders for a long time. She previously revealed she had auditioned for the soap before going on Love Island but said:
They wouldn’t let me on it. They won’t let me, and are like, ‘it ain’t going to happen.’ I think it’s because my dad is already on it so if I went on it there would be a massive outrage.
Danny Dyer’s EastEnders role
Meanwhile, Danny Senior has been a main cast member on EastEnders for the last seven and a half years. He made his debut as pub landlord Mick Carter back on Christmas Day 2013. Since then, his character has had a number of major storylines, including a stint in prison and the recent discovery of his daughter Frankie Lewis.
