Until now! Nickelodeon has just announced a brand-new 26-episode run plus a feature length live-action movie due in November 2020. In a departure from the 2D animation of the previous films and series the new film will use a mixture of live-action and CGI.

But don't worry - although it's been 27 years since the original series debuted, Tommy, Chuckie, Angelica and co will still be appearing as the babies you know and love!

As well as being funny and cute, the original Rugrats series has been praised for being progressive and diverse - subverting gender roles and including strong female characters.

This is a great opportunity for parents to share one of their favourite childhood cartoons with a new generation - the only question is: will it be more popular with kids or their parents!?
