During the last 20 years, more than 40 000 babieshave been born in Britain through sperm, oocyte and embryo donation. This is the case of Georgia and Jack, two long-time friends born through in vitro fertilisation.
In Great Britain, the Human Fertilisation and Embryo Authority records all births that were possible through medical assistance from British clinics since 1 August 1991.
From friendship to family
Recently, Georgia and Jack decided to ask for details about their birth to the organisation. The two best friends then discovered that they were actually brother and sister. Georgia shared this amazing news in an Instagram post with a long explanation about their research.
‘Today we found out that we had the same sperm donor so we were brother and sister,’ said Georgia before adding, ‘I'm the happiest person in the world. To all those who have been born through IVF, ask for the details of your birth. It's the best thing I've done in my life. Miracles can happen.’
We cannot contradict her on this one...
