Although dogs are one of our favourite sources of love and affection, it's important to remember that they are animals. One lick could leave you sick, or even worse.
We know that dog is Man’s best friend. Full of unconditional love for humans, they often show a lot of attention and particularly like to lick the faces of their masters. But this gesture, which may seem quite innocent, can be very dangerous for your health. Their saliva can be carriers of many germs. Your dog's tongue is an environment conducive to the proliferation of bacteria as they tend to put their noses everywhere.
In the United States, cases are numerous. One such case saw a young American boy contracting tuberculosis from his dog. In another case, a 48-year-old man had all four limbs amputatedbecause of a bacterium called ‘capnocytophaga canimorus.’ In the UK, 4 people have already died because of this germ since 2017. Each of the cases involved the saliva from a pet.
Even if these diseases remain isolated, it is still necessary to remain vigilant with our four-legged friends!
