Anton Gerashchenko, an adviser to the Ukrainian Minister of Internal Affairs shared on Twitter a video of the former Russian commander where he warns about the likelihood of a new Russian civil war.

According to Girkin, there is a real possibility that a new civil war will not take longer than three days to destroy Russia:

There are all kinds of civil wars. There are civil wars that will kill our country in three days in winter. And it will be over in three days, but it will kill the country.

Girkin believes that the scenario of a new civil war would cost the lives of millions of people and it would lead to the collapse of the Russian Federation into multiple smaller parts:

[a] collapse into a civil war with millions of casualties, with a complete collapse and defragmentation.

The next civil war is already under way

A similar projection was also presented by Mark Feygin, a former Russian parliamentarian and now exiled human rights lawyer. He said in October that a complete defeat of Vladimir Putin's forces in Ukraine would likely lead to a ‘bloody civil war’ in Russia.

According to a report by CEPA, the next Russian civil war is already under way considering the exchange of rants and public criticisms of Russian military leaders who are showing less and less unity each day.

Anrei Piontkovsky, a Russian born analyst who now lives in exile in the US, believesthe elites in Moscow are sure that defeat in Ukraine is around the corner and that the Putin era is ‘doomed’.

Piontkovsky argues that there are specific interest groups in Russia which, after the regime’s collapse, will be preparing to protect what they already have.
