Food recalls are important to watch for as they usually mean there are health and safety concerns that can cause serious damage if the items are consumed.

Here is what not to eat and what to do if you have already bought these products.

Lidl: Deluxe Strolghino Salami

Lidl is recalling its Deluxe Strolghino Salami, which is 250g in size and has the best-before dates of April 13, 2023, and May 8, 2023.

The product is being taken off the shelves due to the potential presence of Salmonella - a dangerous bacteria that can trigger severe gastrointestinal symptoms.

The supermarket commented:

If you have bought the above-mentioned product we advise you not to eat it. Instead, return it to a Lidl GB store for a full refund, with or without a receipt. Other Use By Dates and Deluxe products are not affected by this recall.

Waitrose: Tomato and Mozzarella Arancini

Waitrose is recalling Waitrose Tomato and Mozzarella Arancini because it contains wheat which is not mentioned on the label. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with coeliac disease, and/or an allergy or intolerance to wheat or gluten.

The arancini come in a pack of 300g in size and have a best-before date of March 23, 2023.

The supermarket said in a statement:

Do not consume if you have an allergy to gluten. Package up the item. Return the product to your local Waitrose and Partners branch for a refund.

Aldi: Plant Menu Tofu and Harvest Morn High Protein Bars

Aldi is recalling its Organic Super Firm Tofu because of an isolated temperature control issue. The recall is limited to a number of stores in the Midlands.

The product comes in a pack of 200g and has the best-before dates of April 13 and 14, 2023.

Another item Aldi is recalling is Harvest Morn High Protein Bars. These snacks contain milk and/or peanuts and/or soya which may not be emphasised in bold on the label.

The food retailer advises you to return both products to any store for a full refund and apologises for any inconvenience caused.

Tesco: Creamfields Grated Cheddar

Tesco still has an active recall for Creamfields Grated Cheddar, which comes in a pack of 500g.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) explains that ‘it may contain small pieces of clear, soft plastic which could make the product unsafe to eat’.

The item has a best-before date of March 23.

Customers who have purchased this product should not eat it, and return it to the store for a full refund. No receipt is required.

Asda: Tiger Tiger Taste Japan Mirin

Asda is recalling Tiger Tiger Taste Japan Mirin in 150ml size. All date codes are affected, and the barcode is 502444 8552476.

The product is being withdrawn from shelves because it contains soy, which is not mentioned on the label.

The supermarket advises customers to bring the delicacy back to their nearest store for a full refund. No receipt is required.
