Ollie told the villa's beach hut: 'I have to be honest with myself, and everyone, that I do still love someone else. I have to follow my heart in this scenario and it would be wrong for me to ignore these feelings.'

Ollie is reportedly talking about his ex-girlfriend Laura, whom he split up with last year following an 18 month long relationship. Ollie had been coupled up with Lewis Capaldi's ex-girlfriend Paige Turley.

He went on to say: 'At the end of the day, this is Love Island and it's about finding love. If I carried on anything with Paige, or any other girl that might come into the villa, it wouldn't be fair on them.'

ITV confirmed the news, saying: 'Ollie has made the decision to leave the Love Island villa.' The channel had previously refused to bow to viewer demands that Ollie be removed from the show after photos of him posing with dead wild animals to promote his hunting business emerged online.

Ollie's exit leaves just four boys in the villa - compared to seven girls - ahead of the upcoming recoupling.
